Production Notes: The Today Show called Feeding America one day. Savannah Guthrie wanted to create a PSA about huger. A little girl she had interviewed imagined a “food angel” would deliver food to those in need. So off we were finding a director that would take on a very meaningful assignment without much funding. I had worked often with Joe in his Venice, CA office as a young production coordinator. Time to call in a favor. Ok, Joe can be gruff, or in a kinda way sometimes. But he does have a very generous persona once you get past that hard exterior shell. He did not hesitate to help on this one. In the end he donated his time, access to his archival library of footage, location permitting influence and considerable monies to make this a reality. Savannah was able to set tables all over New York to serve those in need. Thanks Joe.
